Bertha, 45, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2022 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Bertha was born in San Fernando Tamaulipas, México to Argenio Garza Sr. and Alicia Iracheta. Bertha’s mom passed away when Bertha was an adolescent, and her grandparents became her legal guardians, Papa Tino and Mama Chavela as she called them. Bertha immigrated to the United States at age 8, where she attended public school and graduated from James Pace High School. Bertha went on to further her education and enrolled at Texas Southmost College where she graduated from the License Vocational Nursing Program. Bertha worked in several Nursing Homes in Brownsville as well as Home Health Agencies taking care of pediatric patients at home.
Bertha battled for many years with chronic kidney disease and diabetes, receiving two kidney transplants in Houston Texas. Despite her many trials, she always had a smile and great sense of humor, she enjoyed life.
Preceded in death by her mother, Alicia Iracheta Garza and her maternal grandparents, Florentino and Isabel Iracheta.
Bertha leaves her husband, Pedro Villegas, her parents, Argenio and Virginia Garza, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles other family members including her cats that she loved.
