With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the
passing of Enrique Barboza Sr., who entered into the presence of his Lord and
Savior on June 19, 2026, at the age of 90.
Enrique was born on January 19, 1936, and throughout his life was known as a
devoted husband, loving father, faithful Christian, talented carpenter, and gifted
storyteller. He had a remarkable ability to make family and friends laugh with his
stories and warm sense of humor.
A skilled craftsman, Enrique was an excellent carpenter and handyman who
could build or repair almost anything. He also had a deep love for music and
enjoyed playing the bajo sexto.
Most importantly, Enrique dedicated his life to serving Christ. He faithfully
attended the Assemblies of God and later founded and preached at El Templo El
Calvario. His unwavering faith, commitment to ministry, and desire to share God's
word touched countless lives over the years.
Enrique was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Lerma Barboza and
Francisco Barboza; his brother, Antonio Barboza; and his sisters, Ninfa Barboza
and Beatriz Guerra; son Ramon Barboza and grandson Ramon Barboza Jr.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Jovita Martinez Barboza, brothers Jose Angel
Barboza, Santiago Barboza, Jose Guadalupe Barboza, Gabriel Barboza, Adan
Barboza, and Francisco Barboza; and his sisters Raquel Perez and Eva Diaz.
Enrique Barboza Sr. was a devoted father who deeply loved his five children:
Juanita Barboza, Ramon Barboza, Enrique Barboza Jr., Doralicia Guzman, and
Eleazar Barboza. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in
each of them.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his 11 grandchildren, 13
great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Enrique will be remembered for his strong faith, hardworking spirit, love of family,
and the laughter he shared with those around him. His legacy lives on through
the generations of family he cherished and the many lives he touched through his
ministry, friendship, and example.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he has
entered eternal rest and is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.
"The king rejoices in your strength, Lord. How great is his joy in the victories you
give!” — Psalm 21:1
