Gertrude Martin Obituary
Gertrude Farias Martin, age 92, a lifelong resident of Brownsville passed away peacefully at her residence February 21, 2015, after a lengthy illness.
She was a 1941 graduate of Brownsville High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eloy & Angelica Farias; her husband, Murray Martin; her siblings: Cutberto, Alice, Lucy, Elodia, Eloy, and Joe; and her son-in-law, Mack Christian.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Martin Christian of Plano; son, Steve Martin of Brownsville; sisters: Gloria Farias, Fina Roberts and Mary Oliveira; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held today, Thursday at the Delta Chapel at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at City Cemetery.
