Humberto Barrera

Humberto Vasquez Barrera, 73, passed away on December 5, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Adelna Vasquez Barrera and Juan Barrera; his siblings, Domingo Barrera, Israel Barrera, Maria Alicia Mendiola, and Aroldo Barrera; and his great grandchildren, Joe Lee Vega and Jesus Eduardo Rodriguez.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Guerrero Barrera; his children, Sonia Trevino, Maribel Carr, Lorena Rogers (Andre), Esmeralda Barrera, Maria Crystal Hinojosa, Humberto Barrera Jr., and Andrew Barrera; his 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a holy rosary at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Delta Chapel.  A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday December 7, 2018 at Good Sheperd Catholic Church.  Services will continue at the Delta Chapel following the mass until 8:30 p.m. A chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday December 8, 2018  at the Delta Chapel.  Burial will follow at Buena Vista Cemetery.
