Maria Magdalena Garcia Toland

Maria Magdalena Garcia Toland passed on May 14, 2022, at Valley Regional Medical Center at the age of 50.
Maggie, a resident of South Padre Island, was Born in 1971 to Rafael Garcia and Esperanza Rios Garcia. Maggie grew up in Port Isabel, Texas where she graduated from Port Isabel High in 1991 and continued on to earn a cosmetology license and attend two years of college. Shortly after, she met her spouse, Cary Michael Toland and began a 24-year journey where she was blessed with two boys, Cary Michael Toland II and Spencer Markham Toland. Maggie had a passion for soccer and her adopted team "Chivas" that was only matched by her passion for her two boys, her cats and her family. Never at a loss for words, Maggie had a wonderful sense of humor and will be sorely missed by her family and those that loved her.
She is preceded in death by her two parents and two brothers, Guadalupe Garcia and Ruben Garcia.
She is survived by her spouse, two sons, sisters, Martha Martinez, Irma Villareal, Monserrat Garcia, and Juana Garcia of Port Isabel, and brothers, Rafael Garcia and Alejandro Garcia of Edinburg and Harlingen, Texas. She had over 25 nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday May 21, 2022, from 1 pm to 6 pm with a Celebration of Life at 3 pm the Delta Chapel.
At Maggie's request cremation service will follow. A private ceremony will be held at Port Isabel Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial Contributions can be made on Maggie's behalf to Friends of Animal Rescue, South Padre Island 4908 Padre Blvd.
