Ninfa Pena Rivera

Mrs. Ninfa Peña Rivera, 99, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 26, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born November 10, 1925 and raised in Brownsville, Texas in El Jardín Heights, where she lived until 1993 when she moved into her new home in Olmito, Texas to live surrounded by her sons and family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Rivera, her son, Frankie Rivera Jr., Ida R. Gomez, Julia Rivera, and Joe P. Rivera.

She is survived by Anatilde Rivera, Oscar Rivera, Hector Rivera, Nora Cookinham, and Jimmy Rivera; 21 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and  14 great great grandchildren.

She was an avid fisherman. She enjoyed cooking and gardening while tending to her entire family. May she rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held from 12 pm to 7 pm with a rosary at 5 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Delta Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 9 am on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral.  Interment to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
