Rosa Gamboa Rodriguez

Rosa Gamboa Rodriguez 96, of Lake Jackson, Texas, 90 years resident of Brownsville, Texas, entered heaven’s gate on June 14, 2018. 

Rosa devoted her life with a servant’s heart to her husband and family, enjoyed sharing stories of her life experiences struggles and joyous moments.  She enjoyed playing chalupa, cherished the last years shopping, dining and attended festivities with grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Friends and family spoke of her kinder spirit and humorous thoughts that brought us joy and laughter, she welcomed all into her home and never turned anyone away.  Rosa lived by her parent’s most important instructions “through good and bad times you will be committed into your marriage” “always lend a hand to those in need” “treat everyone with love and kindness”. She left behind big shoes to fill with an imprint of love, be kind to one another, serve and forgive.  Family was most important, Rosa lived long life satisfied.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Angelita Gamboa, her husband, Ysidoro Rodriguez, and her sons, Alex, Leo, and George Rodriguez.

She is survived by her children, Gloria (Bill) Broderick; Janie (Carlos) Claire; Salvador Rodriguez and Isidro Rodriguez Jr.; Sergio (Patty) Rodriguez; Noe (Gloria) Rodriguez; her daughter-in-law, Norma Gutierrez Rodriguez, Eva Rodriguez, and Mary Rodriguez; her brother, Jorge Gamboa; 30 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 8:30 pm on June 20, 2018 with a rosary at 7 pm at the Delta Chapel.  Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on June 21, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
